Nicolaus and Deirdre are an awesome couple and a great example, as they use their influence, their celebrity status, and their money for high philantropy causes to care for foster children in the USA, to care for street children across the globe, and to assist desperate families in war zones.

Nigel, the father, insists that Nicolaus forfeit his successful military career, to be the new Vice President of the company, as he is ready to retire. Nicolaus agrees to do so. However, Ceil, the matriarch has other plans. Ceil has concealed hatred for Nicolaus, which she expresses through abhorrent revenge since his childhood, because he is the love child of Nigel and her sister, which is a family secret, that even Nicolaus does not know. Ceil prefers her younger, irresponsible, abusive womanizing son, Benjamin, as the heir apparent, to deny Nicolaus' inheritance. Benjamin is jealous of Nicolaus' good nature, of his success, and of his romantic life. Benjamin has no interest in the family business. Though he does have an extremely unhealthy interest in ... He is faced with a conundrum when Ceil schemes to manipulate his future by expediting a company merger, that has unimaginable conditions, which are heavily dependent on his actions. The conditions call for Nicolaus to make a devasting decision to either abanonded his destined love, Deirdre, practially at the altar, the week of their wedding, and marry another, who is horribly handpicked by his mother, or give away the whole of their empire to a foreign entity, making their family penniless and destitute. Which is the right choice for Nicolaus?

Additionally, Nicolaus finds that he is walking in his ancestors' footsteps, which may not be a good thing, while devoted women who love him face precarious demise, brought on by an ancestral curse which has found its way to the modern times through Nicolaus. However, this situation opens the door for Nicolaus and Deirdre to finally wed, and they have a spectacular international wedding. However, Deirdre is now endangered by this curse. Will Deirdre survive?

Eventually, Ceil goes too far in her scheming against Nicolaus, placing the whole family in mortal danger. It is only Nicolaus who can save them all, and restore the corporate empire to the family.
