GENRE: Romance, Comedy
LOGLINE:

A conspiracy obsessed young man breaks up with his longtime love only to discover that he was manipulated to do it by his lascivious big brother.

SYNOPSIS:

Single Bullet Theory is an ensemble romantic comedy set in present day New York City. It's the story of a highly distracted conspiracy nut, BEN DENBO, who ignores his way out of a relationship. His long time love, KATIE, is sick of competing with his paranoid thoughts and theories for his attention. He is in the middle of prepping for his big JFK assassination presentation when Katie announces to him that as soon as their friends leave after the party they're throwing....she's outta there. Before they can talk it through the friends arrive. They are a collection of neurotic misfits in the midst of equally turbulent transitions.

First comes STEVE, a casting agent who has a nose for talent and a less certain sense of his own sexual preferences. Then there is Katie's best friend CARMEN, a tart tongued Latina lawyer (by day) whose skills as a comedian vanish (by night) whenever the spotlight of the comedy club hits her. She arrives with BECCA, a young actress who’s come to New York from foreign shores. Also on hand are Ben's friend HENRY, a Wall Street trader who moves through the world with a cell phone clamped to his head so he can keep track of the market and his frequently missing Russian mail order bride, LUCY. Last but not least there is Ben's older brother RICK, a flirtatious bad boy who enjoys being the ant in the picnic of life.

Once they all arrive the pressure cooker of Ben and Katie's situation explodes and Katie leaves. Rick is then free to pursue her. It's Rick's great secret that he has always thought he was a better man for Katie than his younger brother. So he has helped along their breakup as best he could in the hopes of collecting her after they split. But Katie doesn't want him. She still loves Ben. Meanwhile Ben, good little paranoid that he is, believes that the reason he and Katie busted up was because there must be ‘someone else.’ Pursuing this he accidentally stumbles upon Katie with Rick.

Seeing how much he’s hurt his brother causes Rick to have an uncharacteristic surge of a conscience. He must undo what he did and bring them back together. And so, at another disastrous get together of Ben’s friends, Rick arrives with Katie in tow. He confesses to his brother that he 'conspired' to destroy their relationship. It wasn’t the ‘single bullet’ (Ben) who caused them to break up. It was the ‘second gunmen’ (Rick). While furious to learn this, Ben is thrilled to see Katie again. They express their love for each other and reunite. After other unexpected revelations by their friends they all wind up with a kind of happiness none of them expected but is, much like Ben and Katie's love, somehow right.
