A boy, forced to join the royal guard, isn't prepared to protect a wagon of gold, let alone face the beast rumored to inhabit the forest the wagon is travelling through.

SYNOPSIS:

Timor's father died in debt to the king, and both Timor and his mother must work off that debt. Though Timor dreams of being a baker, he has been forced to become a royal guard. Assigned to the team protecting the first wagon-load of gold from the king's new mine, he learns of the beast of Brock Forest. When the beast attacks, Timor is unwilling to fight and is taken captive. Timor learns there is something much deeper going on and finds a way for himself and his new friends to get what they want, and for their common enemy to get his comeuppance.
