SYNOPSIS:

Hoboken, NJ

Evelyn and Raymond, divorced co-owners of a booming software company, find their lives intertwined in a web of deception and danger. Evelyn left the company to raise their 17-year-old son, Terrell, while Raymond continued managing the business. James is the ambitious, second highest-ranking person in the company and he brings on Lucas, a consultant.

During a weekend with Terrell, Raymond collaborates with FBI Special Agent Ricci to gather evidence against Lucas, suspected of serious crimes. Raymond does this because the FBI learned of fraudulent activity implicating Raymond and was willing to make an immunity deal if he collaborated with them to seize Lucas. Wearing a wire, Raymond records a damning conversation with Lucas but returns home to a ransacked house and meets a fatal end at the hands of a masked intruder. Terrell discovers his father’s body and calls 911.

Detectives Holt and Garcia take on the case, initially suspecting Terrell or Evelyn. Evelyn, amidst her grief, learns from Agent Ricci about Raymond’s covert operation. Determined to clear her name and protect her son, Evelyn discovers a flash drive revealing fraudulent activities and large offshore deposits linked to the company. Lucas, aware of Evelyn’s discovery, kidnaps Terrell, demanding money from the accounts in exchange for his life. During the tense exchange, Holt and Garcia intervene, capturing Lucas and rescuing Terrell.

Evelyn turns over Raymond’s wire recordings to Ricci, but Lucas is killed in jail, suggesting a larger conspiracy. Holt and Garcia warn Evelyn to seek safety, leading her and Terrell to stay with James.

While at James’ house, Evelyn uncovers incriminating evidence linking him to the fraudulent activities as well. She and Terrell flee, notifying Holt and Garcia, who find James dead in an apparent suicide. The truth unravels. Close
