A young couple go out into the desert on a mini-vaction to find that somehow they are trapped in an invisible box, and there is something in the dark closing in.

SYNOPSIS:

In this romantic horror thriller leaning towards M. Night Shyamalan's OLD meets A24's HEREDITARY, a young couple find themselves struggling in their marriage. From two different worlds BELLA is a traveller hailing from England, and ERIC is a hermit whose never left his city out in the Arizona Desert. The two argue in counselling when Bella admits its a dealbreaker if she doesn't start travelling and she needs Eric to go with her too, they're married so its expected right? Eric makes a compromise by deciding to go camping in the desert outside his home city limits, and then next time drive with her to California. The two embark on their journey, fighting the entire time and well into the star soaked night by campfire. Enraged at eachother Bella storms off and their dogs chase after her, one dog goes into the dark ahead and suddenly is devoured. All that is left is a bloody skinflap that she carries with her, screaming and running into an invisible wall. Upon impact, and after using a stick to draw out his perimeter, Eric discovers both parties are stuck in separate invisible rooms. The game of survival grows as each night worsens and they are visited by ghosts and taunting creatures. They work together eventually and they can travel on a strange path set before them when standing side by side. They enter a canyon where on the final night a demon exposes himself giving them the choice of sacrificing their remaining animal, or allowing one or the other to be taken into the underworld instead. They give up the dog through painful decision-making and find themselves free within a flash. It is them determined later in a second therapy session, that they'll be going to England.
