A down on his luck, street smart hustler finds himself unusually and
suspiciously fortunate at a Las Vegas casino owned by a mysterious
charmer with suspected mob ties and soon realizes that he may be a pawn
in someone else's end game.
Are you a betting man, RB? ;) I can't think of anyone better to write a Vegas thriller than you. Also, you should play the mysterious charmer. Just saying.
Me? A betting man? Now where would you get that idea ;) Well, I won't say there isn't a piece of me in the main character, so maybe we can get Gosling to play me playing the mysterious charmer. Just sayin'.
Ah... when I first read the logline I was picturing the main character to be uh em... 'recently' kicked out of college. Of course you should play him!! Don't really think it will be much of an acting challenge either ; ) This is another one of your scripts I would enjoy reading! And of course seeing...
Didn't realize you were a writer until I saw Babz's post. Like your not busy enough with Stage 32! Love all the Loglines esp, The End Game, and Rockets Red Glare! You're a man of many talents Richard!
Thanks, Janet...Yep...A writer, actor, director, producer. I may run the joint, but I'm no different from anyone else here. We're all in this together!
If this goes to production you have to throw me in as a dealer... or I can just be myself getting killed in a game of Texas Hold'em. Either way I want to be part of it. Your call, of course ;)
Oh, believe me he not only looks the part, but has the confidence and natural Brooklyn accent to pull it off. Nobody would be better to play the street smart hustler. Just like Stallone writing and playing Rocky. I can't even imagine anyone else in that role. He was perfect.
We aim to keep it positive and energetic around here, Kimite. Honored that you would like me to mentor you. I do my best to share my knowledge here as much as possible. But, I'm always learning as well thanks to the ridiculously talented members of this community.
Hm. To me this logline sounds like a continuation of The Catcher in the Rye, kicked out of College, traveling through the country... and with that picture on my mind I think Ryan Gosling would be perfect for this.
This is very cinematic story. I like, RB, although I find, "Rockets.." more in my branding - drama. I grew up watching: Terms of Endearment, Ordinary People, Kramer vs Kramer. Good luck with, End Game. You've pay your dues, 2016 is your year, my friend, RB.
This sounds really fun! I like the idea of a guy who's dealing with all these issues, and while someone takes him for a fool playing in their game, he might prove them all so wrong. That's what it looks like to me. I would love to read the script!
