GODFORSAKEN: A STORY OF THREE MARYS
By Kevin Michael Irvine

GENRE: Historical, Adventure
LOGLINE:

After the crucifixion of Jesus of Nazareth, the three women named Mary in his life are swept into a violent period of political turmoil where they stand together against an empire.

SYNOPSIS:

Based on true events and historical characters, in the hours after the crucifixion of Jesus of Nazareth, Mary Magdalene, 32, a follower, Mary of Nazareth, 48, the rabbi's mother, and Mary of Bethany, 34, her caregiver, cause unexpected civil unrest in their struggle to convince people of the rabbi's resurrection which they have witnessed, but no one else has seen. Havoc pursues them as neither the Roman authority nor the rabbi’s followers believe it. Accused of incitement, the women and Lazarus of Bethany, the rabbi’s friend, flee to Alexandria where they face suspicious local merchants who fear that trouble has followed them. The women are cast into a boat with no paddle, sail, or rudder, and drift to Roman Gaul (now the South of France) where they face insurgent barbarians intent on destroying them, Roman authority, and anyone outside of their tribe. At the same time, the women rescue 10 young refugees escaped from the barbarian menace and work to create a fragile truce. Epic in scope and presented with a strong feminist dynamic, GODFORSAKEN: A STORY OF THREE MARYS breathes new life into 2000 year-old characters and sets the stage for believers and non-believers alike to come together over a vital message of peace.
