MOLLY MCBRIDE GOES TO WASHINGTON

LOGLINE:

A modern-day version of, “Mr. Smith Goes to Washington.”  Molly, a chicken farmer, goes to the State Capitol to fight corruption. On the way, she is met with threats, intimidation, and the death of a friend.  

SYNOPSIS:

Molly and Liam along with their three children moved to farm country for a better life.

Shortly thereafter Liam dies leaving Molly to work the farm and to raise the children.

It wasn’t long before Molly learned that farming is run by corporations leaving the farmer with little for their effort. The chicken farmer was the one most effect by the stringent rules.

Finding very little profits, Molly, encourage by her fellow farmers, decides to run for the state senate.

Little did she suspect, this would put her and her children’s lives in danger.

The first plot to scare her off was to kill all her chickens. This not working, the second attempt was to burn her house down. Attentive neighbors and town people thwarted this plan.

With the energetic and enthusiastic backing of the farmers and town folks, Molly won her senate seat. Then the real trouble began.

Upon arriving at the statehouse, Molly learns she is an outcast having beaten one of her fellow senator’s favorites.

With the help of a kindly security guard, Molly uncovers the graft and corruption that has been ingrained in state politics for decades.

Unfortunately, this caused a reaction from the criminals that caused the securities guard’s death. Molly reacted with anger and retaliation.

Soliciting the aid of the FBI, Molly strikes out to destroy the good-o-boy network that has dominated the senate and to put those responsible in prison.

With the perpetrators in handcuffs and being led out of the state building, the crowd turns to Molly and with much cheering and applause, shows their appreciation.
