Walter was trapped. Life in a retirement home was numbing for him so he made his escape. Along the way, he encounters a fifteen-year-old rookie prostitute who he decides to save.

SYNOPSIS:

Walter a seventy-two-year-old finds himself in a retirement home after losing his wife of thirty-eight years and having no children, he falls into a depression after a bout of cancer.

The numbness of his life leads Walter to leave in the dead of night and embark on a cross-country excursion.

Ending up in Las Vegas, Walter runs into Mickey, A naive fifteen-year-old novice prostitute with no family.

After a horrendous beating by a john, Walter decides to take her with him and to help her change her life.

The first stop is Disneyland followed by a tour of the beaches of California. Walter begins her education by purchasing Mickey a book on acquiring her GED.

The next stop is the Grand Canyon and a trip by mule down to the bottom.

They move on to Colorado and stay at a cabin resort where Walter confines in Mickey his life and love of his deceased wife. He then decides to travel to Council Bluffs, Iowa, where his first love, Sadie, a retired high school teacher, lives.

Sadie, who has lost her husband and has two married sons in the military overseas, is thrilled to see Walter and Walter is thrilled to see her.

Walter and Mickey settle into a life with Sadie as Sadie helps Mickey with her studies.

Passing her GED and acquiring an old vehicle of Sadie’s that Walter and Walter rebuilt, Mickey enrolls in community college.

Doing his part at the house, Walter attempts to shovel snow. This leads to a heart attack.

In the hospital, Mickey encounters a nurse that confines in her the love of nursing. This sets in motion her desire to become a nurse.

Sadie nurses Walter back to health as Mickey continues her education.

Graduating from college, Mickey is gifted by Walter and Sadie a trip to Disneyland for her and her friends. Walter and Sadie tag along.

Time moves along and Walter and Sadie attend Mickey’s graduation from nursing school. Both are noticeable older and Walter is walking with a cane.

Mickey and Sadie are holding on to each other at Walter’s gravesite. Mickey is clutching the picture of her and Walter at Disneyland. Tears are flowing.
