Andre, on the verge of retirement, is preparing to walk his daughter down the aisle, but instead finds himself struggling with a near death experience, that leaves him with no choice other than to fight outside influences from tearing his family apart.

SYNOPSIS:

Act 1 Summary

New Year's Eve 2017 ANDRE gets the best news of his life when his daughter CARA calls to say she’s engaged. Currently, Andre is struggling to get through his final overnight shifts before retirement. Distracted by the news, he ends up collapsing in a walk-in freezer. His coworkers mistakenly grab INEZ, to run to his side, thinking that she is Andre’s wife. Meanwhile, Andre’s actual wife ALANA arrives at his workplace to rush him over to the hospital catching the two of them in an awkward situation. Once tested and probed like a lab rat for days on end, doctors come to the realize that the pneumonia they were treating him for was a misdiagnosed heart attack. They immediately ship him off to another hospital to attempt an emergency triple bypass surgery.

Act 2 Summary

After Andre is miraculously given a 2nd Chance at Life, he chooses to let Inez into his home to help with the recovery shortly after he finds out that she has lost her job because she lost her work visa right after she left her abusive husband and is now forced to live in her car with her 2 sons. Day and night Inez attempts to nurse Andre back to health in hopes of staying with Andre for good. Alana struggles to find ways to get Inez out of the house and away from her husband. A nasty fight brings them all to their wits end days before Cara’s big wedding day.

Act 3 Summary

Alana decides to drop a bomb on Cara about her father’s affair with Inez and there soon to be baby, just as she is returning from her honeymoon. Cara’s fairytale life quickly becomes shattered as everyone around her continues to just sweeps it all under the rug. Andre is absolutely crushed by the situation, turns to the bottle which leads to a DWI, that ultimately lands him in court, where he is ordered to turn in his license and attend AA. All while Inez is being deported by ICE. Thankfully, Cara and her brother SCOTT decided it is time for a family intervention. Just when they think the air is finally clear and everyone can move on with their lives, Andre decides to take a much-needed vacation to visit his family in Colombia. While he has Cara on FaceTime, Inez, the master manipulator shows up surprising Andre just as Cara is about to announce that they are starting a family of their own. Leaving everyone back in the dark once again...
