SYNOPSIS:
Three-part comedy-drama depicts first from the ‘Remain’ perspective of a well-educated, left-wing South Asian man of LGBT persuasion who feels that the country’s becoming increasingly homophobic, racist, and mean-spirited and finds comfort falling in love with a Kiwi man who’s doing his postgraduate studies and working at a cinema from Grindr as a means to escape London and head for Auckland. It unfortunately doesn’t work out for him as his boyfriend soon is murdered by an ASBO and the protagonist here kills two people on a train only to head to international imprisonment and interrogation. The second segment depicts the ‘Leave’ perspective as it follows a bitter, racist/xenophobic white man of right-wing persuasion who saw his ex-wife dating a black man, his son asking him to buy stuff for him, and his chip shop running to the ground. He finds solace and comfort becoming a viral sensation filming himself intimidating people he views as threats to Great Britain (e.g. immigrants, refugees, ASBOs, rich toffs) and befriends a vigilante in his effort to find himself purpose in life. His fame gets into his head so much that he decides to kill his ex-wife and son and then assassinate members of the European Union in the name of Brexit. The last segment depicts someone who is ‘Neither Leave Nor Remain’ through the eyes of a Member of Parliament (MP) from Milton Keynes surviving amidst a brutal shootout conducted by Prime Minister Boris Johnson to show who’s more supportive of Brexit versus those who aren’t. It leads to many people dying in the process including a prolonged showdown between guest Nigel Farage and the MP from a fairly moderate/centrist city in Britain.
