Futuristic. A time where the general public believes all disabilities are easily corrected by medical science. The reality is the government forces risky attempts to "fix" all disabled. When risky procedures fail patients are never seen again.

This creates a secret society of both disabled and those wishing to protect them. An opportunity arises to save the hunted community by stealing a ship and escaping to another solar system.
