A student wants to go for ghost hunting out of sensationalism,
but after a fatal accident he learns that dying - like living
- is a developmental process.
SYNOPSIS:
IntroductionJonathan is a twenty-something who wants to go on a "ghost
hunt" with his girlfriend Mia, his best friend Leon (and his
girlfriend), accompanied by a medium: Jack. Their goal: an old
house where deceased souls must find rest. In the kitchen of
their student house, the medium explains that sometimes the
dead still have to find out for themselves that they are dead.
ConfrontationAs a group, they go for an evening walk in the direction of
the house. On the way, things go wrong: they are hit by a car.
The girls scream, there is great commotion. We see everything
from Jonathan's perspective: he seems unharmed and sees his
friend Leon lying on the ground, covered in blood. A policeman
comes running and applies First Aid. There seems to be a third
body lying there, but it is unclear who it is because of the
stress. The medium reassures Jonathan that they are still
trying to save Leon.
AloneWhen they get back home: the girls ignore him. He feels left
out, as if they blame him for his friend's near death - Leon
is in the hospital. At night Jonathan is kicked out of bed by
Mia. The next morning a phone call comes in: the message from
the hospital that his friend is probably not going to make it.
Mia cries and is angry.
ResolutionJonathan flees, he runs to the house. He wants to experience
if he can see his friend there. After Jonathan had a ghostly
experience, suddenly Mia also enters the house, along with the
medium Jack. For a moment Jonathan is happy that Mia is there,
but then he becomes worried. He is afraid that she is dead.
When he wants to touch her, he gets a shock. Then he realizes
that he is dead. Only now does he really notice her, even if
she can't see him anymore. Finally, Leon is at the door. He is
still a wandering soul. Jonathan lets him in and says: there
is a room available
