By Ray Schillaci

GENRE: Horror, Action
LOGLINE:

A literal race for life with death on a dangerous fog covered canyon road.

SYNOPSIS:

SCOTTY SALEM while on a joy ride with his ’69 Rally Sport Camaro pulls into an old gas station where he is greeted by the decrepit proprietor, JUSTICE DOWRIGHT. The old man being a car enthusiast, relates the story of the teen who owns Bluff Canyon Road with his ’56 goblin green Buick. Scotty insists that might have been in the past, but taking on that treacherous stretch of road, he discovers that history has a way of racing up with its ghostly presence.

Scotty races down a deserted wooded highway until he pulls over to a beat-up gas station that looks like it dropped from the ‘50s. Looking for the cashier, Scotty notices the wall behind the register covered with snapshots of sports cars from past to present. A literal shrine to the wheels that have captured many a heart with one shot in particular, a young duck-tailed blonde with his leather jacket posing with his pride and joy, the ’56 Buick.

Justice introduces himself and the young man and his car in the picture, THOMAS PIKE. While servicing Scotty’s car, The old man relays the story of Pike, his car, and every race the young man ever won on Bluff Canyon Road, now labeled, Pike’s Road. Scotty finds it hard to believe that the guy still races. But, Justice warns him if the challenge is put forth, the man will appear.

Scotty cannot resist the temptation and places a bet with the old man that he will not only take the challenge, but beat this alleged legend. Justice whips out an old polaroid camera and takes a snapshot of Scotty and his ride, and adds it to his shrine. Scotty speeds off to Bluff Canyon Road.

Once there, Scotty notices the sign has been marked with a can of red spray paint declaring, Pikes Rd. Once the sun disappears over the landscape, Scotty whisks down the long winding road and a fog rolls in. Blinding white lights appear behind him with the blaring sound of a powerful truck horn from hell. Thomas Pike and his four wheel death machine is the reaper of the road and about to claim his next victim. But, Scotty Salem is no victim and will race for his life if necessary.
