A-list actor, Bobby Richards hires a second-rate film producer with a gambling problem to make an art film that’s guaranteed to lose money. Richards signs over his rights to the film to his wife in a spiteful attempt to make sure she doesn’t get a dime out of their nasty divorce battle, but things don’t work out exactly as planned.
SYNOPSIS:
Joey Watkins, a schlock film producer with an incurable gambling problem, owes gangster, Tuco Jannaro, fifty thousand dollars. A-list actor Bobby Richards approaches Watkins on the pretext of making an art film instead of his usual big budget vampire-zombie-superhero blockbuster. The actor tells Joey he wants to get into producing and his first project should be all about the art, but his real agenda is something totally different.
Richards is in a nasty divorce battle with his wife, Terry, because she caught him sleeping with his co-star. Richards has hidden most of his assets but whatever he can’t hide he’s determined to lose just so his wife won’t get it. As part of the divorce settlement he signs over his rights to the film being produced by Watkins in an attempt to make sure Terry doesn’t see a dime. Gangster and bookie, Tuco Jannaro, hears about big time actor Richards’ involvement with Watkins and wants a piece of the action, thinking it will lead to a big payday. Things don’t work out as planned.
