KILL THE MONSTER

KILL THE MONSTER
By Maurice Vaughan

GENRE: Horror, Action
LOGLINE:

A fiercely independent woman tries to single-handedly kill a hungry humanoid monster each night it visits her house.

SYNOPSIS:

Horror/Action feature script for option or sale

Sub-genres: Contained Horror/Survival Horror/Monster

Budget: Low ($3MM-$5MM)

Short Synopsis: Jaci (a nocturnal monster that looks like a woman) discovers a secluded house in a small town. She rings the doorbell and cries, waiting for someone to answer the door. Kelsa Banks (a resourceful woman who never asks for help or accepts it) takes Jaci inside, thinking she’s hurt. Kelsa’s best friend and housemate, Dakota López, realizes Jaci is a monster, and Kelsa shoots Jaci. The creature flees from the house, badly wounded. Despite having people to help her against Jaci, Kelsa tries to single-handedly kill the monster each night it visits to eat her and Dakota. Kelsa realizes she needs help to kill Jaci. Kelsa, Arch, and Dakota work together and kill the monster. Kelsa puts together a team to find monster hideouts and destroy them. Full synopsis in treatment.

Why This Movie and Why Now?: A lot of people don’t like to ask for help or accept it. This script is my way of saying, “It’s ok to ask for help and accept help.” Even though the protagonist is a woman, I have a problem asking for help and accepting help sometimes, so I wrote this script from experience. My script features a fresh monster that will terrify and excite audiences.

Potential: Comics, TV series, and video game franchise

Thanks for hearing my pitch. A script treatment and a pitch deck are available. Message me on Stage 32 or email me with any questions.

When I scrolled to the logline, I actually heard the "click-click" of the shotgun Maurice Vaughan. It freaked the dogs out. One is under my desk.

Maurice Vaughan

Thanks for the rating, Leonardo Ramirez! Sorry, dogs. Haha Hope a producer or director hears the "click-click" when they see the poster. I went back to the original title for the script. The alternative title is YOWL.

Leonardo Ramirez

I actually like this title, Maurice Vaughan. It's easy to remember/market.

Brilliant concept and theme, Maurice. However, I'd see this more as a short-film feature than a full-length. That's just my opinion though.
