A focused and responsible San Francisco chef, and his not so smart jock ex-boyfriend/best friend, embark on a business opportunity and life style change after the chef's father dies and leaves him a goat farm with a commune of colorful characters on it. His rich new neighbors also want to get their hands on the property.

SYNOPSIS:

Pilot - Open to a busy cafe? kitchen where BILLY GOAT one of the chefs is called into the office by the business owner Henri to address issues with COLE BENDER, who is also Billy’s roommate (ex-boyfriend) who works as a waiter at the same restaurant. The owner had an agreement with Billy that he would have to do the firing the next time Billy messed up. Billy has to tell Cole he is fired which seems to not bother Cole as much as it bothers Billy. While Billy is in the office telling Cole, he gets a call from SUNSHINE, Billy’s kind of a “second mother” to Billy and she calls to tell him of his father’s death. Billy has not talked to his father or Sunshine since he left the farm 15 years earlier when his mother passed. Billy and his father had a huge falling out at the funeral and haven’t spoken since. Cut to a month later in the law office of Harmony Law. She is a former commune member who left to start her law career. She walks through will with Billy that seems to be more of Tarot card reading. Billy learns that he gets it all, the house, farm, goats and the commune. There is a clause written in will that says Billy cannot sell the property for 10 years and he cannot evict the commune members. If he tries to sell then everything goes to the commune. So, Billy has always wanted his own restaurant so he thinks of quitting his job and starting his own Farm to Table business. He also has the issue that there is commune his mother and father started on the property that is still there. They are not sure how they are going to handle that issue. He will be checking it out and see how much the farm has changed. He talks his unemployed roommate Cole, into a job opportunity on the farm. They go to the farm for a visit so see what kind of shape it is in and if they can make this business happen. When they arrive at the farm, they meet CEDAR, who lives in the commune and grows pot and is very paranoid about the government. They meet LAMB, she also lives within the commune and believes in free love and expression and thinks she is a physic. We also meet the MARSHALL and HARPER TRUEBLOOD, a rich and snobby couple that live adjacent to the goat farm. They want to buyout the property and get the commune and goats out. Which, Billy has decided to keep and run as a business using the commune members as hired employee’s and they also can remain living on the property.
