SYNOPSIS:

Jolie Tucker and Ava Martinez grew up in charming Leavensport, Ohio. Following in her grandma’s footsteps, Jolie opens a cast-iron skillet restaurant with her BFF. The ladies’ lives get turned upside down when one of the village’s own is murdered in the alley behind their restaurant. They soon discover the victim is Jolie’s grandma’s best friend. Jolie’s grandma is the prime suspect, and a new detective shows up from the nearby city to investigate.

The crime is the catalyst that sets off a disastrous chain of events, gradually uncovering the dark secrets hiding behind those pristine picket fences. Jolie and Ava take it upon themselves to save Jolie’s beloved grandmother. The girls stumble upon the town’s seedy past, hidden underground tunnels to the nearby city, the politics involved in corrupt urban sprawl, gentrification, and the unforeseen development of a new mall to tie the nearby city and village together.

Urbanites and villagers are at war as Jolie and Ava realize the clock is ticking down and their very roots are in peril. Jolie and Ava could never have anticipated that co-owning a restaurant in a quiet village would lead them down this twisting and mysterious path to an uncertain future.
