THE TOUCH
By Osagie Bill Aigbogun

GENRE: Thriller / Suspense, Mystery
LOGLINE:

An enthralling speed read, built on suspense with a wholesome effect of the phantasmagoria on every page, a total unputdownable work, my masterpiece

SYNOPSIS:

Dear Producer,

My name is Osagie Bill Aigbogun, but in these related circles everyone calls me Bill… Do pardon me as I hit the ground running.

First, I would like you to know that I am qualified accountant and practiced for many years, I have some other impressive finance related qualifications.

But also, and more importantly, I am interestingly a Novelist, Storyteller and Author and have written seven books as at the time of this submission, aiming to complete an eight book in the not distance future as time permits. The genre of my first work in relation to this feature is thriller-mystery-crime-adventure with an undertone of the supernatural. In the year 2022 I was a Nobel Prize Multiple Nominee

My only published book and coincidentally the first is titled ‘The Touch’ and I am seeking for a movie company to make an adaptation into a screenplay.

The feature starts below effectively.

Ex-Marine, Historian, Archaeologist and Professor, lots of skill for a sexagenarian, but as always what stands out is his clear and impressive cerebral display. I introduce to you George Holmes. A brilliant man whom a young girl would be needing his most valued help soon on a highbrow level, these two individuals are my protagonists, of which George leads as a more engaging character.

Amy a young Caucasian American girl, the first child of her parents and a very sociable character, she is the talk in school and has a best friend called Sandra, she is the classical American girl every American girl wants to be. On her fifteen birthday, same day late at night, she and her parents find something mysterious about her. All measures are applied to the best of the family’s ability, but to no avail. However, luck finally strikes after an umpteenth affair with the hospitals…Weeks do ensue, before they decipher, she has a curse from ancient Greece, three thousand years old to be precise and the fourth installment.

The Historian cum Archaeologist who suddenly and unexpectedly now belongs in their fold offers a temporary solution pending a permanent one. Hence, the male ghostlike figure who visits Amy when she is asleep and experiencing this curse needs to be found and body contact made between them to have it lifted.

Not too long after some interesting and eventful wait, Amy’s best friend out of sheer luck sees and meets the real human version of the ghost man and a ruse of a birthday party is set for both players to meet and have body contact.

Hmmm… It did not work and there is pandemonium, but the Historian feels there is more than meets the eye, as he is confident of his thesis, and as we have it, his hunch is confirmed. The first supposed ghost man had a twin brother and this thrilling revelation, unambiguously wrapped in cloak and dagger raises the bar even higher, as he was meant to have died some days after birth fifteen years ago.

The search continues and leads the key players to Nigeria in utmost search for the dead now assumed alive. There is more melodrama of local affairs in key cities within Nigeria, before the real ghost man is found bringing joy all over the country for this special boy.

Close to a fortnight after, the lost but found, his mother with the Historian begins a journey to the USA so Amy and the ‘return from the dead’ that is the real ghost man can have body contact and bring the episode to an end.

But like any crime-mystery-thriller story ridden with adventure, intrigue and a good dose of suspense, the boy is accidentally shot by an assassin on a vendetta in an international airport in Lagos. A bullet intended for the Historian who is on a hit list of 9 of which he is 6th on that list after 5 kills, this now puts the Historian at the incredibly special protection of the FBI who are seeking to end the killer’s senseless rampage.

To make the body contact happen before the found twin probably dies, the historian must muster an F15 from an air force base in California enroute Lagos, Nigeria with its sole mission and passenger being Amy the young American girl.

The fighter jet makes it after five hours of the Historian immediate phone call to key contacts in the USA post his analysis of real time situation of an unconscious boy bleeding profusely. Interestingly a Colonel in the Nigerian Army with secrets roots to the USA and an adept player in the scheme of things makes sure even while under the knife that Amy touches the found twin.

Final tests are run for a couple of days after ‘the touch’ to see if Amy has been liberated and of course she has.

But there is more my producer, as an epilogue ends the book which suggests the story continues, with new twists for the sequel to keep readers and viewers longing for more.

Thank you for your time, this is my feature.
