A teen born with the remarkable ability to control powerful shape-shifting nanotech embedded within his own flesh finds himself the unwitting linchpin in an underground war led by a fanatical cult leader.
SYNOPSIS:
In science fiction thriller, Mechcraft, Jake London's (15) tortured life of self-doubt and being a victim of bullying, is thrown into chaos when he discovers the ability to control millions of shape-shifting nanotech robots that have, until recently, lain dormant in his DNA. Telepathically connected to the sentient tech within him, Jake can summon liquid metal through his pores, and with it, create any object he can possibly imagine.
But he’s not alone. A secret world in Los Angeles opens to him, revealing a hidden society of Mechcrafters- all having gained their power through a rigorous injection process. Philosophical disagreements on the best use of the Mechcraft ability fractured the group, leading to all-out war, and leaving each of the three factions vying for dominance.
Being the first person born with the nanotech, Jake finds himself caught in the center of the warring factions’ designs and schemes, each believing his potential power will be the wildcard that will deliver victory.
Ruthless faction leader, Sasha (32), obsessed with making the world a better place, believes Jake is the best tool to achieve her passion of Mechcrafter genocide. She grows increasingly mad in her pursuit of the teen, always a step ahead.
Now, with two young Mechcraft agents, Bex and Trent, escorting him, and a horde of enemies relentlessly pursuing them, Jake finds himself in a desperate race to safety.
Battling through psychotic Mechcrafters, elite hunters, an arrogant tween show-off, and a ruthless enemy leader, the trio perseveres through a hard-fought road to the only safe place in the city, where Jake hopes to reunite with his parents who he fears are dead.
As their journey progresses, Jake’s bond with his companions develops into a friendship with Trent and a crush on Bex. The agents discover Jake is truly special, and not just for his unique Mechcraft circumstances, but for the compassionate person he is.
Their deadly paths lead to a final confrontation that shakes the hidden community to its very core, and pits novice Jake against legendary Sasha in a long-anticipated battle for survival.
Through Bex's love and Trent's guidance, Jake learns to trust in himself, accepting his destiny as a leader. His journey comes full circle when he discovers his parents are alive.
