SYNOPSIS:
The story is set during the last decade of the crumbling Soviet Union with the Red Army and the KGB engaged in a bitter struggle for dominance.
The title of the project is derived from the emblem of the KGB: a double-edged sword on a shield, signifying the two main functions of the agency: to strike down the enemies of the people and to shield the Motherland.
The story is told through a KGB agent, Oleg Medvedev. An investigation of a high-profile general's murder takes Oleg from the halls of power in Moscow to the wild Carpathian Mountains. He uncovers a complex plot inside the highest level of the government. Oleg is ambushed but escapes his captives. Now as a rogue agent Oleg, returns to Moscow, overcoming multiple obstacles while being relentlessly hunted by KGB and a special security unit.
Oleg has a major conflict between his original loyalty to the Soviet Regime and what is RIGHT.
Oleg and the daughter of the murdered general join their forces to foil a coup attempt and an assassination attempt on the President, despite a surprise last-minute double-cross by Oleg’s best and oldest friend.
