Shannon, I’ve been doing the morning pages off and on since the mid 90’s. Then, it helped me get down to the impulse that turned into my first film shot in Mexico and these days they are helping me write a novel. In between these years they have helped at the least to feel good about myself, to see more clearly the span of my life and to ease the creative struggle here in LA. Thank you Randy

Hi Renee, Thanks for your blog. I’m an old schooler of The Artist Way and 3 pages a day. Basically I use it to attack the reason I allow myself to be distracted at writing time. I mean really be honest with my thought process at those precise moments. Good character descriptions and scene situations, for example, have come out of these focused examinations. And I do combine this with strenuous hikes, not just flat surface walks, to connect to intense breathing and a release into my subconscious that always proves fruitful if I “step out of my way” and allow it to happen.
