It’s night time, Halloween Eve on the west side of Chicago and the tricks we have in store are definitely a horror fan’s kind of treats.

Meet Crime Scene Investigator Julia Markowski, a woman haunted by morally questionable choices. She thinks she’s in a grungy basement apartment murder scene to collect evidence with her assistant, Fletcher. But in reality, a life-changing lie is about to catch up with her.

Now add in instant tension with the arrival of Julia’s ex, police detective Michael Dugan, and the building’s shifty superintendent. What transpires next is anything but routine.

With camera’s rolling, the former lovers try to keep it chilly and professional…until they examine the body. Wrapped in heavy plastic, the body’s disposal suggests a serial killer at work, but this is just the first reveal of a far more manipulative plan.

When the body is unwrapped, Julia and Dugan make a startling discovery – the battered face of a woman who looks disturbingly like Julia’s sister. And that's just the first layer of this emotionally devastating revelation.

You see, Julia’s younger sister married a cop. He was an unfaithful, physically abusive asshole. When the sister went missing, her husband went from being suspect #1 to being convicted of her murder and left to rot in jail thanks to the investigative work of Julia and Detective Dugan. But here’s the catch, the sister’s body was never found…until now...

Then again maybe not as Julia and Dugan discover that a prosthetic face has been crudely sewn onto the dead woman’s face to make her resemble Julia’s sister. Someone has set into motion a far more sinister scheme to expose Julia’s culpability and to drive her to question her own sanity.

And when the only door in or out mysteriously locks, the crime scene reveals itself to be a booby trapped basement of horrors designed to cause psychological and bodily harm. One apartment. Four people. Each with a secret that could get the others killed.
