STICKS is a nightmare-fueled manifestation of fear for a young hydrophobic woman and a group of friends. Their idyllic getaway to an old abandoned river estate gets devastatingly disrupted by an evil brutal force that has been festering in the depths of STICKS RIVER, a powerful psycho-reactive force that gorges on their fear. To survive the night, they must all face their deepest phobias… or die trying.

SYNOPSIS:

Twenty years have passed since the first recorded drowning at Sticks Lake. A YOUNG PRETTY GIRL, in an act of defiance, had found her way out into the middle of the lake, on a small row boat. No one can say what happened after that. She was never found.

The present. CATHERINE returns from a self-imposed and emotionally enforced exile that she used to stem a deep fear of water. She joins her brother CLINTON, two stems on a fractured family tree, on a road trip. The destination, CAMP STICKS.

Catherine grew up battling a debilitating fear of water since an eerily similar childhood incident. She has disconnected herself from society. But now, after a personal tragedy, the dreams of her incident have returned and her hydrophobia is bubbling...stretching her boundaries of control.

CAMP STICKS was once a popular family resort and pleasure park, in the "good old days" of the seventies. Now abandoned and avoided by the general public, the only resident an aging eccentric attendant who has held up the fort. Much to CLINTON'S chagrin she does it with her three monstrous dogs. Much to Catherine's chagrin, the park's central feature is the large lake that inspired it's name, STICKS LAKE.

At the CABIN on the lake they join TYRONE, ASHLEY, MICHAEL and beautiful MICHELLE. After a day of drinking, fishing and partying, things begin to go awry after CATHERINE and ASHLEY have escalating supernatural encounters, particularly with the malicious and seemingly sentient inky substance that resides within the deep bowels of STICKS LAKE.

In the evening things escalate when a deeply disturbed and possessed ASHLEY begins to viciously attack his friends, violently wounding one of them before escaping into the night.

The only answers, from a ghostly girl that CATHERINE begins to see, and they all point STICKS LAKE. CATHERINE and CLINTON have to face their deepest fears to save not only themselves, but their friends as well.
