SYNOPSIS:

In a quiet village a young man is caught in the unrelenting grip of a river, his screams are unheard, his attempts to reach the safety of the bank failing. As he goes under for the final time he is pulled from the darkness by an older man and dragged to the river bank.

Only when the two men recover from their ordeal is the true scale of this act of humanity revealed.

Inspired by a real-life event, "The River" is set against the backdrop of global conflict and shows that even in the worst of times there will always be those for whom humanity comes first, irrespective of which side they stand. It is a story of hope at a time when society needs it.
