CRAMPS: A BLOODY PODCAST
By Jennifer Wolfe

GENRE: Horror
LOGLINE:

An anthology style, fictional podcast that takes place after a cannibal apocalypse during which women begin eating men when they're on their periods.

SYNOPSIS:

CRAMPS is an anthology podcast featuring stories in the oratory, personal essay style of a “Moth.” All stories take place in the fictional, post-pandemic world of the “Crampocalypse,” during which women are possessed by a violent urge to eat men when they’re on their periods. These stories will be written by professional authors and screenwriters, and performed by a diverse cast of voice actors.

So, what is the “Crampocalypse”?

It goes by many names . . . Code Red. Bloody Monday. Carrie’s Revenge. Female Trouble. The Red Genesis. Regardless of what you call it, everyone has a story to tell about the day it started, and everything that’s happened since.

It began with one woman. They call her “Bloody Mary.” She made headlines when she attacked a world famous director during a televised trial for sexual assault. Bloody Mary was serving as a juror when her period started, and she was abruptly consumed with the urge to, well . . . consume. It took six men to pull her off the defendant. By that point he was already a goner.

At first everyone assumed this was an isolated incident. But within hours there was another attack. And another. And another. Women all across the country, all over the world, were overcome by the undeniable need to make a meal of men. Wives attacked husbands. Girlfriends devoured boyfriends. Students scarfed teachers. Employees wolfed their bosses.

There was no containing it. The disease or mania or whatever had turned menstruating women into cannibals spread too fast.

And then it happened. The First Lady ate the President of the United States. The world descended into chaos, a war no one anticipated. An apocalypse no one saw coming.
