SYNOPSIS:
"Outstanding In The Field" is a modern-day fantasy, with a cast of plucky animals fighting human arrogance (and the dangers of becoming too human themselves). Sarah, a black-footed ferret, is taken by human scientists. Her children, her best friend James (a weasel with serious revenge issues), his crotchety mentor Desmond (a gray squirrel), and a pair of truly birdbrained herons stumble and lurch toward her rescue. It seems as though the entire natural world stands in their way--and then the supernatural one decides to join in. Across the gulf of miles, James and Sarah find that they share a bond--a dangerous, imperfect thing called love--that cannot be caged.
