SYNOPSIS:

A mysterious woman sits at the feet of Jesus Christ who is dying on the cross. Jesus reveals the relationship of Peter to the mysterious woman and proclaims to ask her why she has forsaken him. Steven Mather, is an insurance salesman traumatized by memories of his father's apparent suicide as a young child. He seeks therapy with Dr. Freedman who tries to help via hypnosis, but it drags up worse nightmares. Steven tries to commit suicide with a gun but it misfires. His religious faith shaken, he offers himself to Satan. Back at work, Steven becomes very sarcastic and rude on the phone with customers, which doesn't go unnoticed by the boss, Mr. Mason. Steven tries to confide in his one and only friend (and co-worker) Tom Perkins whom he knows from childhood. Steven keeps having flashbacks to his days in an orphanage (where his mother took him after his father's suicide) where he looked up to Father Michael for guidance, but doesn’t know about the boundary crossing consolation Father Michael had with his mother. Steven gets a work call from a strange and mysterious woman and goes to meet her to sell insurance for her business of 7 franchises, as she introduces herself as Bella ZiBarb. He’s attracted to her almost angelic physical beauty and her emotional and psychological charm and calls her later to meet with her again. When she refuses, not wanting to mix business and pleasure, Steven becomes obsessed by the pursuit and starts stalking her. The large contract Bella signed makes Mr. Mason happy and Steven gets a promotion at work… but this quickly turns south when Bella brings potential harassment charges because Steven can't leave her alone. He believes she did something to help his mental condition, but Mason sends him back to Dr. Freedman. Steven tells Dr. Freedman about the nightmares regarding his father and his thoughts on Bella and considers Dr. Freedman’s suggestive advice on leaving her alone. Steven goes back to work and gets fired because he can't leave Bella alone and she sues the firm. A year later, he's out on the streets, empty and broken. Upon accidental discovery, Bella finds Steven, and takes him in and offers him a business proposal- as part of a project. Bella sets him up in an apartment and pays him $1000/wk to market her results for future projects, which mostly entails working on himself. He sarcastically pokes fun of her unconventional methods as he goes through various exercises, but eventually starts to experience a change which makes him successful in all aspects of his life. He wants to go see his mother Deborah and finds her at a mental hospital in restraints, constantly screaming his name. After 28 years, Steven manages to calm her down with with a mysterious miraculous power that even he is not aware he has. Steven takes a shine to nurse Elizabeth who accepts his offer of getting to know each other, a mysterious familiarity is felt by both. Deborah has made a complete 180 and prepares Steven for what is about to come next in his life. but she suddenly dies in front of him before she can explain what it is. Distraught, he arranges a funeral and finds solace in his relationship with Elizabeth. However, Bella counsels him not to see Elizabeth because she (Bella) has reasons not known to him which leave Steven in question her. When Elizabeth can't find Steven she enlists Dr. Freedman's help and they go to the police. When he hears their association to Steven, the Chief reveals his side: he knew Steven and his friend and fellow officer (Steven’s father) and reveals to them both that Steven’s father’s death was not a suicide. Days later, Steven approaches Bella, finally admitting his torment of his father’s suicide, and bearing witness to the whole incident. Bella tells Steven about a radical experimental hypnosis that even Psychotherapists do not know about, and Steven agrees to participate. The hypnosis leads to the truth: it was actually four year old Steven who accidentally shot his own father with his service revolver. Steven’s part in it is what lead Deborah taking him to an orphanage when she couldn’t deal with the stress… and that Deborah was also pregnant at the time to a mysterious father. After the Chief explains the details to Dr. Freedman and Elizabeth, that Deborah had a girl, who actually turns out to be Elizabeth! Elizabeth faints at the news. Steven asking Bella to meet with him and Elizabeth, is confronted by Bella in an angered jealous rage when she reveals who she really is, the devil herself. Bella admits to Steven that she has fallen in love with him and cannot take the anguish in the feelings she has for him, and releases him from the contract, not before telling him of his true relationship to Elizabeth. Elizabeth and Dr. Freedman find Tom and he drives them to search for Steven who’s found solace with Father Michael at his church. The others hash out the facts about all their relationships. Steven tells them about Bella's true nature. Father Michael thinks that Steven can 'reclaim' Bella with his love, to make up for a mysterious sin that Father Michael feels is his atonement-and Steven agrees. He goes to Bella but she works hard at pushing him away by admitting that Father Michael is Elizabeth’s father, and using her satanic influence to reveal truths about Steven’s mysterious life. Steven is overcome by some mysterious power and brings Bella back to a being of love while professing his love. Steven carries Bella back to her apartment and makes love to her. Steven and Bella, the next day, have lunch at their spot where they first met and she takes Steven on a psychedelic tour of her origins in heaven and throughout history; as the love of Jesus Christ, and that her love for Christ was blinded by the love of humanity that Christ felt. Because she interfered with God’s commandment, that Adam and Even will surely die if they eat the forbidden fruit from the tree of life, she was sentenced to forever be banished on earth to watch each and every human being suffer and die, including Jesus Christ her love, until the Day of Judgement. She will only then be allowed to re enter The Kingdom of Heaven if she experienced the same love that Jesus and God felt for human beings. Many years later, Steven is aged and close to death as Bella has not aged, she is still by his side and continues to love him truly unconditionally. They bear witness to the revelations revealed in the Bible of Judgement Day soon coming. Steven suffers an aneurysm and is rushed to the hospital where Bella is tormented by his impending death. The hospital staff discharge Steven, knowing they cannot do any more. Steven and Bella have last discussions in her apartment bedroom where Steven gives his last profession of love to her, and peacefully passes away. After remembering their life together, Bella finally kneels and prays. She is rescued by Steven’s spirit and they both disappear in God’s light of love.
