SYNOPSIS:
Actress Carole Noel has to juggle her love for an Italian actor, Serg Vivaldi, and a sugar-daddy producer, Rich Stargate when the two men unknowingly woo her at the same time at a popular hotel. What is her solution? Carole must bribe look-alike maid, Mary Christmas, to impersonate her. Desperate to secure enough money to pay for her mother's time sensitive surgery, Mary accepts the offer. What is the plan? Carole Noel intends to wine and dine Serg in the hotel while Mary, in the guise of Carole, entertains Rich in another room. Also abetting in the ruse is Mary's gay best friend and hotel manager, Doug Bonafide. Doug bounces back and forth between the two women to prevent Rich from discovering Mary's true identity. In the process Doug falls head over heels in love with Serg as he vies for his affections despite Carole's determination to keep the two men apart. During the charade, Mary suffers tremendous guilt as she also finds herself falling in love with Rich. Per Carole's request she rejects Rich's proposal but suddenly blurts out that Serg Vivaldi is her (Carole's) true lover. Brokenhearted in knowing she will never see Rich again, she abandons her impersonation mission and returns home to be with her dying mother during the holidays. Passionate sparks fly between Serg and Doug as their love affair continues. The two men confess their amorous feelings to Carole. Infuriated, Carole reconsiders her only option, to renew her engagement with Rich. Rich confronts Carole Noel with the truth before she has an opportunity to repair the broken engagement. He ends both his personal and professional relationship with her. She won't be starring in his next theatrical release and the marriage is canceled. Furious that Mary back-stabbed her, Carole reneges on their initial agreement. Mary will not receive the money for her mother's surgery after all. As a loyal friend determined to defend her honor, Doug informs Rich of Mary's true identity. He unveils the entire plot hatched by Carole. Now Rich feels guilty as he realizes that Mary accepted the bribe in a desperate attempt to save her dying mother and that she deliberately told him about Serg to save him from Carole's devious plot. To Mary's surprise, Rich shows up on her doorstep with an apology and a proposal. The tables are turned as Carole Noel ends up bussing tables at the hotel where Rich weds Mary with her healthy mother present at the ceremony. Doug and Serg cling to one another as everyone dances to the Village People's hit song, "YMCA".
