One LEARNS from their individual tragedies - I tried that TYPE of LOGLINE when I retired from my three positions - policeman, sheriff, and marshal from Los Angeles - as my first script. I wish you the best. steve
Thank you, Steven. Sorry for the delay in responding. The last six months have been very hectic. I was invited. to attend different festivals with this screenplay... the ScreenCraft - Jamaica Residency Program .., then the Austin Film Festival, where my script was a Second-rounder and this coming April I'll be attending the ScreenCraft L.A. - Atlanta Screenwriting Conference.
My Mentor in Jamaica was screenwriter Peter Craig, he wrote THE TOWN, THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY 1 & 2 and many lower budgeted movies. He told me he read Stone Drive in one sitting and loved it. We talked about my other projects and then he requested a Pilot I wrote. Out of the 14 writers that attended, I was the only one that had another script request... a PILOT I was over the moon.
Steven, you must have millions of stories to draw from. Wish I had known that when I first started this script. I sure could have used some expert advice. How's the writing going? I'd be happy to read one you'd feel comfortable sending. My email is: silmarie@sympatico.ca
Happy Writing,
~ Sylvia
