This feels borderline oxymoron in that these women are lost in the desert while trying to find themselves. If I were actually lost, my focus wouldn't be on self-fulfillment, it'd be on my survival.

Life is an oxymoron thats kind of the point ! HA! But thank you - good food for thought, I am going to think how to reword it better, I do understand what you are saying. They get lost AFTER they go to find themselves so there must be a better way for that to come across.
