AFRIKKA
By Craige Cronin

GENRE: Sci-fi, Adventure
LOGLINE:

Although the huge, blue babonites, the monstrous sabre-tooth loigers, and the giant killer-hogs are terrifying, the true danger in resurrecting a century old ‘reality’ concept is the treachery lurking in a human mind, that mind being Ethan's, the darling of the home viewers. (Screenplay and Novel)

SYNOPSIS:

Inspired by “Sands of the Kalahari”, 1965. Rated 7stars by IMDB, this brilliant film is essentially unknown. Afrikka is not a rewrite of “Sands of the Kalahari”, but is inspired by the concept. In effect, this story compares to a 'Jurassic Park' franchise but is set in the Cenozoic Era - the great age of mammals.

The year is 2119. Planet New Afrikka is similar to Earth over 65 million years ago and has been designated a wildlife reserve for the purpose of back-breeding and replacing extinct species on Earth.

Ethan - young, handsome, personable - wins the 'Survivor' show’s grand prize of one billion universal credits. Along with the show’s crew and executive producer, Harry, he is transported to the victory celebration to be held at Club New Afrikka. Against the odds, however, the shuttle crashes in a desert region.

Using the skillset of a survival champion, will Ethan rise to the challenge of protecting the group, or does he devolve from a ‘new age man’ into a self-centered survivalist?

Your logline is missing two things. The first is a protagonist. Who are we following and how are they relatable? Are they strong? Are they an everyday person? The second is a concise antagonist. The monsters are more threats, what's the overall antagonist or antagonistic force? If it is all the monsters and their dangers, could it be the environment is the overall threat? I know you answer these questions in the synopsis, but the logline is missing them. Love the synopsis and its potential. Hope that was helpful.
