Struggling with the loss of his wife a U.S. veteran hires someone to end his life. He tries to break the contract only to discover the killers are planning to kill a pregnant girl also.
SYNOPSIS:
Quentin Thomas a retired veteran contemplates ending his life after losing his wife to cancer. He falls into an abyss of reckless behavior failing at several suicide attempts. Impulsive and determined he will never feel whole again, he hires someone to do what he cannot.
As a US Veteran Quentin Thomas has seen his share of suffering and death. The loss of his wife of 40 years to cancer was unbearable. Renni Thomas was more than the love of his life; she was his calm, his rock, his soothing voice of reason. She provided a steady realm of peace in his chaotic world. Quentin feels empty without her, life has become meaningless. His daughter and son are powerless to ease his suffering. They also grieve the loss of their beloved mother. Quentin sees no purpose in life without her; he places the cold barrel of his Glock19 against his temple. Fate intervenes the gun misfires.
He visits numerous bars while on a drinking binge; he overhears two men bragging about someone they killed. Intrigued he offers the men a drink, the conversation quickly eludes to contracting their services. They agree to a fee of $10,000 to kill him. Quentin insists on a hero’s death, they plan to kill him in a staged bank robbery.
After leaving the bar, he recklessly speeds through the streets of NY. The police pull him over; they arrest him for disorderly conduct. His daughter Shayla, a prominent lawyer bails him out of jail. With tears in her eye’s she reprimands him and reminds him that he is not the only one suffering.
Still feeling the sting of despair and hopelessness Quentin meets with the contract killers to pay them half the money. He plans a dinner with his children to see them one last time. After some soul searching and reminiscing. He realizes how selfish and thoughtless his actions were. He contacts the hitmen to back out of the deal; he learns that the contract is irrevocable. They explain that the contract must be fulfilled either he dies or one of his children.
With no options, Quentin shows up at the bank. He originally requested a hero’s death; the hitmen would kill him while attempting to stop them during a staged bank robbery. As they walk him into the bank, the smug hitmen confess that they also plan to kill a bank teller and frame him for her murder.
Even in his broken state Quentin knows he cannot allow this injustice. He disarms his assailant and rushes to save the bank teller. To his surprise, she has shot and killed her assailant and she is 8 months pregnant.
Why was there a contract on her? How will Quentin explain his presence at the bank to his children? All thoughts of hopelessness must now be extinguished. The hero deep within must rise up in order to keep the bank teller and her unborn baby alive. There will definitely be no shortage of people trying to kill them. The police are convinced that Quentin was the leader in the botched robbery.
