By Briana Cox

LOGLINE:

SYNOPSIS:

Copyright 2022

Fair Bearden is a twenty-something contractor and relatively high-functioning oxycodone addict. He lives with his mother Tammy, a verbally abusive woman with a significantly more debilitating taste for heroine. He spends his time doing odd labor jobs with friend and coworker Lonnie, a quarter-Japanese redneck whose trying to save up enough money to put his ancient grandmother on a flight back to Japan so she can die there. Fair is in love with his girlfriend Gina, whose existence he desperately tries to hide from his mother, under the assumption that she’d ruin it. Things get bad when Tammy, a supposed-to-be shut-in, goes missing one night. Inspired by familial love and responsibility, Fair sets out to find her. Inspired by a lifetime of abuse and resentment, he takes his sweet time doing it. Certain that he can’t call the notoriously violent and arrest-happy local cops to the scene, Fair instead enlists the help of Lonnie and Gina. The three of them scour Athens Mobile Park for any traces of Mrs. Bearden, following contradictory leads and speaking to a cast of neighbors who vary in helpfulness and hostility.
