A Norse Barbarian is murdered and wakes up in the Greek Underworld where the Goddess of Witchcraft will stop at nothing to seduce his soul.
SYNOPSIS:
Wulfhere is a young man of Viking descent, who has lived his entire life among the people of Greece. However, when his village is decimated by marauders, he is stabbed in the back and burned alive.
He wakes up in the Greek Underworld, his existence subjected to new horrors as he is nearly sucked asunder into the River Styx. He and his best friend, Jason (who also died in the raid), are in for more than just the afterlife when they learn that Wulfhere is not just another soul, but a demigod, the Son of Hades, and is destined to be the next God of the Gate.
Together, with the help of Charon the ferryman (having ditched his boat for an ancient weapon of siege warfare), they seek out Hades, but are pursued at every step by the both alluring and lurid Goddess of Witchcraft, Hexella, who will stop at nothing to trap Wulfhere's soul in hell and enslave his power.
Instead, they discover the awful truth: Hexella has usurped Hades as ruler of the Underworld and planned Wulfhere's demise all along to lead him to her lair from the very beginning.
Caught between fate and an eternity literally worse than death, Wulfhere must learn the origins of his existence before his soul succumbs to Hexella's power and is consumed.
