GENRE: Thriller / Suspense, Horror
LOGLINE:

After a night of partying, a shallow college athlete wakes up in a cage under the care of a beautiful cannibal, and he must win her affection before her family eats him piece by piece.

SYNOPSIS:

Will, a muscular college athlete, wakes up in a cage in the storage loft of a strange garage. He is greeted by the voice of another captive, who explains that he has been slowly eaten by the family of cannibals living in the house. He gives him advice on enduring the incoming pain, then his limbless torso is dragged away. Will is left alone under the care of Mia, the woman he flirted with at a party the night before. She makes a deal with him to secure his freedom: He must choose a body part for her family to eat first that no other captive has ever chosen, but he will lose the part forever as he goes free. He turns the tables on her by asking her to choose the part she finds to be the most delicious.

Mia is deeply disgusted and offended by Will’s challenge that puts the decision on her. Will suspects that she may not be a willing participant in the cannibalism, then seeks to win over her affections, hoping she’ll let him go. He slowly engages her in deeper conversations in an attempt to connect with her beyond their previous surface level flirtations at the party. As he begins to make progress in their friendship, she gives up the challenge, refusing to choose the part for him. Her brother Caleb takes over for her, forcing Will to choose a part under pressure. He chooses his left leg and Caleb tells him that it is the most common part, which he proceeds to take from Will. After losing his leg, Will descends into madness and struggles to keep hope, hallucinating and dreaming interactions with Mia and the previous captive. Mia sneaks back to give Will some pain medication, but is caught by Caleb and badly beaten.

Will devises a plan to convince Caleb to let Mia come back so he can make one last appeal to her to help him escape. In his above ground cage, there is a small hole connected to PVC pipe that is used as his toilet. He damages the connection between the pipe and the plywood flooring, then urinates through the newly created gap, leaving a messy puddle on the garage floor. He tells Caleb that it was an accident and Caleb orders Mia to clean it up. When she returns, Will tries to convince her to call the police to take her family away. She admits that she is also trapped against her will, but afraid she will go to prison as an accessory to murder. Will helps her see that she can save many lives and promises to testify on her behalf. She calls the cops, who break into the house and shoot Caleb as he nearly kills her. Will is freed and hops away on his good leg with the help of the police.

My eyes popped open when I read "now he must win her affection before her family eats him piece by piece," Jonathan Fox. I suggest adding an adjective for the athlete (the main flaw he has to overcome in the script or an adjective that describes his personality). It would give us more insight into his character. I don't think you need "now" in "now he must."

That's great advice, thanks!

Updated it by adding an adjective and removing the "now." It's much better! Thanks, Maurice!
