Four teenagers who experience a tragic accident carry the burden into adulthood where karma relentlessly unveils each of their dark secrets.
SYNOPSIS:
High school friends Jayda, Shay, Yolanda, and Koshie attend a party only weeks before graduation. After an eventful night consuming drugs and alcohol, the seemingly tight friends cause a tragic accident on their way home, resulting in the other driver's death. To save their reputation and futures, three of the closer friends sacrifice the life of the fourth and make a pact to never speak of the incident again. Years later, the thirtysomething trio has moved on with their lives, each dealing with more drama than she can handle. Despite their undeniable bond and tumultuous friendship, an abusive relationship, tragic loss, and a criminal investigation are too much to bear. When their former friend, the framed victim, is released from rehab after ten years in prison, she starts to make her presence known, and her enemies house of lies begins to crumble. The most desperate guilty party takes matters into her own hands, vowing to do whatever it takes to keep the truth buried to save her skin. Yet, the other two struggle with their pact of silence as their lives spiral out of control, threatening to shatter their friendship and expose them all. The climax reveals what happens when lies drive friendships in this explosive tale, where the desire for self-preservation crosses karma.
Hi there, Shannon! Very compelling premise, for sure. I think that swapping "experience" out for "cause" (or something along those lines) is both going to keep the logline itself far more active, and feel far more specific.
Good start!
