BLAKE AND THE TURTLES

BLAKE AND THE TURTLES
By Curt Fulster

GENRE: Family, Animation
LOGLINE:

Blake the snake encounters a few bullying turtles near a lake. The snake wants to fit in with the turtles, but he doesn't know he's not the only one trying to fit in.

SYNOPSIS:

Based on the picture book by C. Fulsty, "Blake and the Turtles."

Blake the snake is a friendly, optimistic snake. He is slithering through the woods when he comes across three turtles at a lake. The turtles aren't very nice to Blake. Blake says that all he wants to do is be friends with the turtles. "Turtles are all mean, it's just what they do," is what the turtles tell Blake. Even though Blake isn't like that, it doesn't matter.

Blake slowly slithers away when he comes across a box that he spends time turning into a "shell." Taking a second try, Blake tries to convince the turtles that he is a turtle too, but the turtles see right through the disguise. After the turtles point out how "wrong" Blake looks, he slithers away again. This time, as he slithers into a tree, he notices that one of the "turtles" is wearing something that's painted, but it's not fully painted. Blake comes back with a smile and tells one of the turtles that he's not really a turtle. The "turtle" takes off its shell and announces that his name is Luke and he is a lizard. He was pretending because "all lizards are mean, it's just what they do." Blake tells all the turtles that there's nothing wrong with them getting along and being a family as long as they treat each other well.
