A flighty young adult recalls being brought up by her crazy mother, a woman with brain damage and PTSD, in order to face cancer and her fear of commitment.
SYNOPSIS:
“Steel Magnolias” meets “Terms of Endearment” meets “Sunshine Cleaning.” “Not All There” is centered around an over-involved mother with brain damage. Her daughters are forced to rely on each other, and eventually start their own business to survive. But when their mother gets cancer, they have to tend to her.
Unique but not unknown, this story is relatable, dramatic, and engaging, yet also uplifting and honest for young adult women and older women. It also gives a voice to individuals who have experienced head injuries, cancer, and lesser known family structures.
