MEET ME UNDER THE BLEACHERS

MEET ME UNDER THE BLEACHERS
By Johnny Otto

GENRE: Comedy
LOGLINE:

A homage to the John Hughes films of the 80's...but way more raunchy. If Seth Rogan made an 80's film, this would be it!! A Teenager falls in love with his best friend only to find out that she is gay.

SYNOPSIS:

Our protagonist is like so many Teenagers; looking for love in all the wrong places. His best friend, and crush, as it turns out, is gay and she is not looking for the type of relationship he is. But being with other girls feels empty and not "special". So what will he do? As hormones rage, so does his heart, and it can't help but to pull him toward his best friend. Even when all of his sex-obsessed peers urge him to let go and have a good time, he can't help but to think about all the wonderful moments that he's shared with his BFF. He knows he has something special with her and doesn't want to give up on love, even if all signs are trying to convince him otherwise. As he is introduced to other girls and experiments with sex, all he can think about is his true love. In the end he comes to a realization that sometimes takes a lifetime to really understand; that women are much more to men than sexual objects and that some of our deepest connections are with our "sweethearts"...that romance and sex are not the same thing and "platonic love" can still move mountains.

This is a deeply romantic movie that could even be considered a Romantic Comedy, and it will appeal to everyone who has ever had their heart broken or tied up in knots. It is peppered with 80's references and slang and I am sure it will be a favorite just like so many of John Hughes films were to me.
