THE HEIST BEFORE CHRISTMAS
By Kipp Tribble

GENRE: Comedy
LOGLINE: Two petty thieves must pull a job on Christmas Eve, but get derailed by a dysfunctional family's holiday get-together.

SYNOPSIS:

A racy Christmas comedy with heart, drawing reader's comparisons to THE REF with elements from WEDDING CRASHERS and SUPERBAD. It's Christmas Eve and petty thieves, Seth Hall and John Oats, receive an ultimatum from their nemesis, crooked cop, Jimmy O’Malley. The task, to lift a security entrance card from a museum curator in order to steal a valuable artifact...thus, allowing Jimmy to retire early. If they don't pull the job off in time, Jimmy will lock them away for years for their latest crime. Everything is going as planned for Hall and Oats until the museum curator, Carolina, arrives home and catches them in the act. They panic and tie her up, but shortly after, her family starts arriving for the holiday dinner. Acting fast, the two criminals pretend to be Carolina's fiancee and best friend, threatening her into going along with the ruse. Little do they know they have encountered the most dysfunctional family imaginable, laying the groundwork for the longest Christmas Eve of their lives. When Hall and Oats have a change of heart and decide to go against Jimmy's orders, they become hunted by his two cronies. Mix in the overly-spiked egg nog and the deadline to make it to their own mom's Christmas party, Hall and Oats must figure out how to foil Jimmy's plan and protect Carolina and her family in the process. Razor-sharp dialogue with an edgy sensitivity, this is a wry and witty look at everyone's Holiday nightmare. God bless us…everyone.
