About Laurence
Film producer and DE with considerable experience in large-scale short and low budget feature production. Also in: screenwriting; script editing; camera dep.; post-production; casting; marketing and festival campaign/release strategy.
Films I have opted to work on have been screened in-competition/received official selection at: Edinburgh; Palm Springs; Thessaloniki Intl. Film Festival; NYCIFF; DCIFF; TMFF (inaugural); Videodrunk Toronto (inaugural) and Sci-Fi London, with one such film being short-listed for a BAFTA nomination. Materializing predominantly due to my skills in acquisition, in 2020, a £7m feature was sold at the 61st Marché du Film for worldwide distribution. From the same acquisition, a £10m+ production featuring named talent is in pre phase at time of writing.
Professionals I have directly hired for films I have produced have gone on to win reputable awards, incl. a BAFTA.
Competent and sharp screenwriter and script editor with in-depth understanding of narrative structure + an adeptness for editing and restructuring scripts for maximum screen fluidity/efficiency.
Helping to shepherd projects through development - green light - distribution is a responsibility in which I take passion and pride. Aiming to work gradually towards higher-budget productions whilst fostering strong and lasting collaborations with up-and-coming crews across all disciplines, with the collective intention of co-producing exciting and resonating films for international distribution/audiences everywhere.
