Producer and Writer for Gunnison Galaxy
Staff Engineer, Technicolor
Bit of a long introduction. Hopefully, it's entertaining enough to get through...
Started off as a Jungle Cruise Skipper 20 years ago at Disneyland. Got drafted to play professional baseball by the Giants (a dark, dark day in my house, which bled Dodger Blue... sigh). Two years of getting hammered by future Major Leaguers, and my career was over. Not wanting to sit at home and stew, I joined the Army, working for the U.S. Army Space Command as a Satellite Network Controller for six years. After the Army, I contracted for various three-letter acronyms and DARPA in 20+ countries, including Afghanistan. After being in a combat zone, upon seeing my family for the first time in a year, my kids didn't recognize me. It was then that I decided to leave the Intel community and move to Burbank, hopefully to pursue my first love: Film.
I ran Big Data at Disney Interactive for two years, did the start-up thing for a year, and now I'm at Technicolor doing Cloud Operations and 3D Render Pipelines for Major Motion Pictures.
My buddies and I are running a small Studio, Gunnison Galaxy (hey, Desmond!). We've just started screening our first Motion Picture (in small release... for now!) called Misfortune. It's a tight little movie that we hope does well.
Anyway, just thought I'd introduce myself. Exciting to see so many creative people in one place! ~Ryan
