THE PEOPLE’S FILM FESTIVAL CELEBRATES Hip-Hop’s 50th Year Anniversary for the 12 th ANNUAL PEOPLE’S FILM FESTIVAL - JUNE 1 - JUNE 3, 2023
In celebration of Hip Hop’s 50 th Anniversary, The People’s Film Festival (TPFF) presented by The People’s Media, Music & Arts Foundation, announced today that this year’s theme will celebrate the 50 th Year of Hip Hop, hosting a series of events, workshops and after parties that centers around the hip hop culture at the AMC Magic Johnson Theater and Maysles Cinema Thursday, June 1 – 3, 2022, in Harlem, New York.
Submissions are open for our 12 th edition. We are looking for films of all genres—narratives, documentaries, shorts, including our new category—micro|short|reels, in which filmmakers can submit their 1 ½ or less films to The People’s Film Festival. In addition, creatives also have the option to compete in our “And You Don’t Stop” 90 Second Challenge in which they are invited to share their stories in 90 Second or less on how “they did not stop” for a chance to win cash & prizes.
