Where Sleeping Dogs Lie (1991)
Film by Charles Finch (Crime, Mystery and Thriller) Sound department Bruce Simmons is an idealistic but out-of-work writer who stubbornly ignores advice from his agents to make compromises with his work and write more commercially viable material, but he stubbornly refuses to compromise his artistic idealism.. His only source of income is a side job in real estate, but his lack of success there also makes it impossible to pay the rent, and he is evicted. His boss gives him one more chance: sell a decaying Hollywood mansion which was the scene of the horrible unsolved murder of a seemingly ideal family many years before. Although the house still is bloodstained, the bodies, including those of the two children have never been found. The now homeless Simmons determines to give his sexy literary agent and former lover the blood and guts she's been asking for and decides to write a novel about the killings. Archaeologist Sam Stewart and wife Marla find it has some connection to their friend Martin. A young boy named Jacob is haunted by terrifying nightmares of what is to come, and his family explains these dreams through stories from Norse legend, which says that the only one who can destroy Fenrir is Tyr, the Norse god of war, who is prophesied to return to fight the creature. Cartel (1990)
Film by John Stewart (Action and Thriller) Sound department Chuck Taylor is a charter pilot who unknowingly smuggles cocaine for the Cartel into the U.S. Unfortunately he is captured by the feds. Ironically, so is Tony King, boss of the Cartel. The two are placed in the same cell, and a relentless battle of wills begins. King even has Taylor's family executed from behind bars. When King escapes from the prison, Taylor takes that as his cue to do likewise. Video by Gene Quintano (Comedy and Drama) Sound department A honeymooning couple become entangled in a plot to recover plates for counterfeiting US dollars. SHE thinks she's just retired from a government 'dirty jobs' department, but her superiors have other ideas. HE thinks she's a retired travel agent. Set in Spain, there's a constant flow of visual jokes, mainly at the expense of a group of incompetent thieves who are in hot pursuit of the plates. Scott is more than 60 years old, while Kate is at least thirty years younger. When Scott dies, his soul cannot get peace and he becomes a ghost only Kate can see and speak with. Scott wants to return to life, and him and Kate hatch a plan to let a young man drown so that Scott can take over his body. This Is the Life (1983 - 1985)
Television (Drama and Family) Sound department Each week, "This is the Life" presented dramas dealing with contemporary problems and how they were resolved using a Christian solution. Examples might include a professional baseball player who had betrayed the trust of his team; a college student who was mourning the loss of his girlfriend in a car accident; a recovering alcoholic struggling with the temptation to jump off the wagon; and a couple contemplating divorce. In the early years, the program featured the Fisher family, a "typical family" from Middleburg in an unnamed Midwestern state; in later years, the programs featured new characters and settings. When his bookie from the old neighborhood, Dice, comes to collect on Eddie's gambling debts and Palmer returns early from Europe, the the scheme slowly starts to unravel. The New Scooby and Scrappy-Doo Show (1983)
Television (Animation, Comedy and Mystery) Actor An updated version of the classic Hanna-Barbera mystery cartoon. Daphne, Shaggy and Scooby-Doo travel from town to town in their van, The Mystery Machine, solving cases of hauntings, monsters and unexplained occurrences. In this series, the gang is joined by Scooby's pint-sized nephew, Scrappy-Doo. Unlike his uncle, little Scrappy is constantly looking for a fight, and it is all Scooby and Shaggy can do to keep him from hurtling head-on into every ghost and monster they encounter.
