About Veronica

Veronica is a dancer, performer, and creative artist based in Orange County, California. She gained her BA in Dance from the University of California, Irvine, with a minor in English. She is a founding member of The JohnC Art Ballet and The Hartfel Foundation, and has been performing with the company as a Principal Dancer since May of 2001. She has danced in many original choreographic works by John Welch, including Appalachian Interpretations, In Spirit, Christmas Hymns, the Tango variation from Stravinsky's L'Histoire du Soldat, and Baroque to Brazil. She also acts as rehearsal director and provides private coaching for members of the company.

In 2011 Veronica was promoted to Assistant Artistic Director and Studio Manager. She writes all marketing materials for the company, including the company website. She collaborates with the Board of Directors to organize fundraisers, events, and performances, and works as the company's lead grant writer.

Veronica has over ten years of experience teaching ballet to all ages, 4 - adult, including both group classes and private coaching. She was an Instructor in the Step in the Dark dance program for the blind, the Hartfel Foundation's flagship outreach program for the disabled.

Prior to joining the JohnC Art Ballet, she was a Soloist with the Palm Springs Ballet Company, and a Principal Dancer with the Los Angeles Children's Ballet Theater. Her theater credits include minor supporting roles in "The Miracle Worker", "Yerma", and a "MIdsummer Night's Dream."
