Jeremy Garelick is a director, writer, and producer, and co-founder of American High, an innovative production company specializing in provocative teen comedies. After getting his start at CAA, Jeremy learned the ropes as an assistant to the legendary writer/director, Joel Schumacher throughout the productions of Tigerland, Bad Company, Phone Booth, and Veronica Guerin. Jeremy made his feature screenplay debut with the Vince Vaughn and Jennifer Aniston vehicle The Break-Up and quickly followed its success by teaming up with Todd Phillips to pen the production draft of The Hangover. In 2015, Garelick was named to Variety’s ‘10 Directors to Watch’ list following his directorial debut, The Wedding Ringer starring Kevin Hart and Josh Gad. In 2019, he created, executive produced and directed all 8 episodes of the award winning Netflix show, Best.Worst.Weekend.Ever as well as Executive Producing the Youtube Red hit, SideSwiped, all while forming his production company, American High. In just five years — and despite a pandemic — American High has released 15 movies. Its first film, Banana Split (2018), premiered at the Los Angeles Film Festival and received a nomination for the US Fiction Award for Best Film. The following year, American High’s Big Time Adolescence (2019) premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, earning a prestigious Grand Jury Prize nomination. The highly anticipated I Love My Dad (2022) amassed several accolades at the SXSW Film Festival including the Grand Jury Award in the Narrative Feature Competition. Doug is a seasoned entertainment industry veteran whose career has encompassed many aspects of the business. As a producer Doug was responsible for Columbia Pictures’ FOOLS RUSH IN, SPY HARD starring Leslie Nielsen; and the independent dramedy, LOVE COMES TO THE EXECUTIONER starring Jeremy Renner, and PURE COUNTRY 2. In the world of television movies Doug co-executive produced for NBC, ABC, Showtime, 20th Television and Fox Broadcasting. This was a fantastic conversation with Doug who relayed stories of how he discovered some of the industry's most prolific talent, and how writers can go from being assistants to showrunners during their career.

The Executive Hour with Noah Pink

We're back in the Writers' Room for The Executive Hour with Noah Pink. Noah Pink is a Canadian screenwriter, television producer, and director. He co-created the Nat Geo/Disney+ television series Genius and he wrote the screenplay for the 2023 feature film Tetris for Apple TV+. His low-budget feature novella, Zedcrew, debuted at the 2010 Director's Fortnight at the Cannes Film Festival. He also competed for Canada in swimming at the 2001 Maccabiah Games in Israel.
