Marsy Robinson is the Supervising Producer for the next chapter of Sex and the City: And Just Like That... for HBOMax. She is the Creator and Writer/Producer for the highly anticipated animated series and meta-verse - The Adventures of Hoop and Pep! Prior to that, she was Co-Producer for the Netflix/WB scripted series A.J. and the Queen and for various pilots under MPK Productions/WB for Amazon, Netflix, HBOMax and CBS. Marsy is a member of the Producers Guild of America, is the founder of The Commune. With great care, tenacity, and determination, Marsy emphasizes connection and collaboration - within her company, The Commune to welcome strong, creative minds into a non-hierarchical environment to develop, produce, manage, and sell female forward projects, serving many genres and fulfilling a myriad of storytelling and truth-seeking. Q: What is the format of a webinar?

He has over a decade of entertainment industry experience, having coordinated and produced with A-listers, all of the studios, and films that have grossed over $1B worldwide. His most recent credit was on A STAR IS BORN starring Bradley Cooper and Lady GaGa, with producer Heather Parry. John is the unofficial, "Godfather of Television and Movies," being the last assistant to Chuck Fries, the "Godfather of the Television Movie," called that because he was the first to put a movie on television. John worked with Vincent Newman on the box office hit comedy, WE'RE THE MILLERS and started his career working with Tom Cruise at MGM/United Artists. John developed and sold the script PATIENT ZERO to Clint Culpepper at Screen Gems, attached an Oscar winning director, Stanley Tucci, and shot it in London. The film was released in 2018 to rave reviews. John was also a part of the final season of the smash television comedy, 'You're The Worst" for FX, and the 80th Oscars.

In this Writers' Room Pitch Tank we welcome special guest, Development Executive Drew Gatto of Captivate Entertainment. Captivate Entertainment is a production company behind the enormously popular JASON BOURNEfranchise, which has grossed over a billion dollars worldwide. At Captivate, Drew works closely with executives across the industry to source strong material and secure IP rights for projects in development. Last summer, he had the opportunity to travel to Budapest to work on Captivate's most recent TV project, "TREADSTONE", which aired on USA Network last fall.  Drew started his career at the Gersh Agency where he worked with leading film and television talent, helping them secure roles and develop their careers. He then moved to Imagine Entertainment, where he had the distinct honor of working with Brian Grazer! During the Pitch Tank we hear pitches from members including period thrillers, female-driven dramedy, action, historically-based series, and Sci-Fi adventures! 

Pitch Tank Webcast with Producer, Boman Modine

We're back in the Writers' Room for the Pitch Tank Webcast with Producer, Boman Modine. Boman Modine is an award winning Producer with a history of film and franchise development. As a director, Boman has been nominated for a Daytime Emmy for the show "DARK/WEB" on Amazon Prime and was both the showrunner and director for Warhammer 40,000's "ANGELS OF DEATH" and "THE EXODITE" currently running on Warhammer+. Boman started the company LOST LEGION STUDIOS to generate VFX materials as well as animated content for companies that include RIOT GAMES, WU-TANG CLAN as well as video games with SUNSCORCHED STUDIOS and AFFRAY INTERACTIVE. He is the former head of acquisitions and development for Mt. Hollywood where he also produced the BAFTA-nominated "THE PARTY's JUST BEGINNING" with Karen Gillan now on AMAZON PRIME. He has also consulted and produced with BRAIN ACADEMY, known for the Keanu Reeves/Peter Stormare show "SWEDISH DICKS", where he packaged both features and television shows.

We're diving into the Writers' Room Pitch Tank with special guest, Art/Work Literary Manager Spencer Robinson!In 2020, Spencer staffed writers on series for HBOMax and Netflix - and sold his client's feature script. Most recently, Spencer has one client's project in the midst of a bidding war between 2 cable networks. His clients have been in films with directors Quentin Tarantino, Steven Soderbergh, Clint Eastwood, Gore Verbinski, and more. In the TV world, his clients have been regular cast members on shows for Netflix, The CW, Cinemax, CBS, NBC, FX, Starz, Nickelodeon, EPIX, TBS and more. Spencer’s clients have also recurred on series for Freeform, TNT, AMC, Showtime and many more. Art/Work's writing clients work in both feature and television and include Eric Heisserer (Academy-Nominated screenplay, ARRIVAL), and writers on shows such as WORKAHOLICS, ARROW, JUSTIFIED. In addition to working with the studios, cable and networks, Spencer has also set up projects at Netflix. Spencer began his career in production and moved into talent management at MBST Entertainment (Woody Allen, Bette Midler, Billy Crystal).
