Zach Ambroise was born in Haiti and immigrated to the United States when he was two years old. As a child, he was able to assemble different cultural characteristics to create a unique style in his playing. Ambroise studied with saxophonist Tim Green in undergraduate school at Morgan State University in Baltimore, MD. He was fortunate to go on tour in South America with the MSU Jazz Combo; and he was a featured artist when he performed with the Morgan State University choir before Michelle Obama’s speech for her husbands’ 2012 presidential campaign. He later received his master’s degree in Jazz Studies from The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA. After moving to New York City for a year, opportunities began to flourish as he performed with gospel artists Maurette Brown Clark, Jonathan Nelson & Jason Nelson. Performorming has always been his love but composing eventually became another passion of his. A relationship with Film Director Warren Eig enabled a chance to score a short film titled 'Mixed Signals.' Zach has his own band name '1st klass' with original compositions and he now resides in Los Angeles, CA.
