Hi all! I'm Chantal, a filmmaker who loves to write and direct. I had always loved filming and editing fun videos for my friends and family, but it wasn't until doing a 4-week Filmmaking course at the New York Film Academy, that I got a first hand glimpse of the behind the scenes aspects of making a movie and fell in love with the idea of this as a career. I was hooked, and that summer made the decision to fully enroll into film school. During the two year MFA Filmmaking program at NYFA I developed a passion for screenwriting and directing, with the majority of my projects falling under the romantic comedy/drama genre. My thesis film 'The Ex Factor' has circulated film festivals such as the Boston LGBT film festival, California Women's Film Festival, Cinema Diverse, etc. which was a great experience for me to see first hand how people, outside my inner circle - family, friends, classmates, receive my work.
After graduating I have freelanced on various sets from LA to Ghana, constantly looking for ways to gain experience in all aspects of film and TV, which has given me a lot of opportunity to collaborate with other filmmakers. Please feel free to message me as I am always looking for opportunities to create new content, tell interesting stories, and collaborate with my fellow creatives :)
